History. A new TV crime series debuts tonight on FX. It is called "The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story." NPR TV critic Eric Deggans says the show tackles a whole lot more than the untimely death of a fashion icon. ERIC DEGGANS, BYLINE: Instead of calling it "The Assassination Of Gianni Versace," FX probably should have named this show The Disintegration Of Andrew Cunanan. That's because it's most compelling moments focus on Cunanan, the man who murdered Versace and four other people. Played by "Glee" alum Darren Criss, Cunanan is a smart, glib social climber. He's also an occasional male escort with a habit of inventing stories about his life. When he claims to have arranged a date with Versace, a friend, who has a huge crush on him, confronts Cunanan who rationalizes his lying. In one scene, after Cunanan guns down Versace on the steps of his Miami mansion, Versace's longtime romantic partner Antonio D'Amico speaks to police. D'Amico, played by Ricky Martin, struggles to endure insulting questions while explaining that they would sometimes bring other men into their bed. During a weekend in the winter, two young men attempt to rekindle their friendship, witnessed by a cold raging sea. BEIRA-MAR is a film about memories. When the directors met in film school, they realized they had had a very similar upbringing, sharing the same fears and similar desires. They both grew up spending their summers on the very same beach, although they never actually met during that time. Consequently, they decided to build the two main characters based on each other's experiences of when they were 18 years-old. Their film became the amalgamation of these memories, from this important moment of their lives, and ultimately a celebration of such unique coincidence. BEIRA-MAR was selected as one of the six works-in-progress screenings at the prestigious Toulouse's Cine en Construccion.

Novelist Patrick Gale drew a key scene in Man in an Orange Shirt (BBC
Two) from family history: how his mother found a stash of passionate
love letters in his father’s desk and was horrified to see they had been
written not by a former girlfriend, but by the best man at his wedding.
Just such a discovery proved pivotal in the opening part of this fine TV
drama, which explored the corrosive impact of being unable to pursue
love truly and to the full. Up to that point, the story had been a
familiar, if exquisitely wrought, tale of repression; of how two Army
officers, Michael (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and Thomas (James McArdle), met
during the Second World War and fell in love.
A love story in two films charts the very different challenges to
happiness for Michael and Thomas in the aftermath of World War 2, and to
Adam and Steve in the present day.

and in the following days, a bond forms between them as Michael is drawn
to Thomas’s bohemian charms.

Η γνωριμία τους έχει δέσει αλλά ο Louis δεν θέλει να αποκαλυφθεί ποιος είναι πραγματικά ωστόσο ένα τρυφερό φιλί ο ένας τον άλλον επισφραγίζει την αγάπη τους, αλλά κάποια κοπέλα τραβάει φωτογραφία από το κινητό. Σύντομα, η φωτογραφία δημοσιεύτηκε στο Facebook και μια καταιγίδα θα ξεπεράσει τη ζωή τους καθώς αντιμετωπίζουν τον εκφοβισμό και την απόρριψη.
