Satyricon - Fellini (1969)

In first century Rome, two student friends, Encolpio and Ascilto, argue about ownership of the boy Gitone, divide their belongings and split up. The boy, allowed to choose who he goes with, chooses Ascilto. Only a sudden earthquake saves Encolpio from suicide. We follow Encolpio through a series of adventures, where he is eventually reunited with Ascilto, and which culminates in them helping a man kidnap a hermaphrodite demi-god from a temple. The god dies, and as punishment Encolpio becomes impotent. We then follow them in search of a cure. The film is loosely based on the book Satyricon by Gaius Petronius Arbiter, the "Arbiter of Elegance" in the court of Nero. The book has only survived in fragments, and the film reflects this by being very fragmentary itself, even stopping in mid-sentence.

BUENOS AIRES - The July winter vacation was coming to a close and José’s decision was maturing: he would simply tear down what remained of the “closet” he'd slowly been coming out of. So on July 30, José arrived at the elementary school that he works at in Buenos Aires as "Melisa," and became the city's first ever transgender teacher.

Weeks earlier he had met with school administrators to inform them of his decision: “I have an obligation to be coherent with my deepest sentiments that are leading me to take this step in my life, a life that will never be lived to the fullest if I don’t show the essence of my own being. And my being is profoundly feminine.”

Why now? Melisa feels that it is time to be herself in the workplace. Also, on May 9, the Senate passed a law on gender identity that allows individuals to adapt their national ID documents and birth certificates based on a gender choice.

Melisa has been a teacher for the past 22 years, specializing in optional chess workshops. [Watch footage and interview of Melisa here] She teaches 12 different classes in different public schools around the city, with students from second to fifth grade.

Her students have always known her as José; now she is Melisa. Thin, very tall and with dazzling finger nails, she is proud of the acceptance she got from her daughters (aged 21 and 16) and the rest of her family, who confirmed their own suspicions after seeing Melisa dressed as a woman in photos that Melisa had decided to show them.

But that was only the beginning of the process. What would the parents of her students say?

Enrique Samar, principle at one of the schools Melisa teaches at, said that the majority have accepted the decision. Only one mother decided to pull her son from the chess workshop.

Haydeé Torinchik, a family psychologist, says that the school erred by leaving communication with the children essentially up to the parents. “You have to work from their heads, find out what they know and what they imagine, and answer questions in an adult way based on that," Torinchik said. "Melisa is not hurting anyone, she is saying the truth, and the truth is respect.”

Laying groundwork with long nails

According to Melisa, the change was not a radical departure, because she was already preparing the terrain: she started to wear her nails long and wear jewelry, plucked her eyebrows and started training her voice.

“Teacher, men don’t wear their nails long,” students told her during the transition. Some of the changes appear to have been completely accepted, but seeing her in heels and a skirt still provokes surprise. “You’re pretty, teacher!” and “Why did you change now and not earlier?” were some of the comments.

Sergio Provenzano, director of studies in Sex Education and Gender Studies of the University of Buenos Aires, said that children understand better than adults, because they are able to look at the changes without prejudices.

Melisa openly said that she has more than 200 skirts at home, and that you just don’t see transsexuals of her age walking around the city. In what seems to have been an intimate conversation, Soledad Acuña, the under-secretary of diversity in school told her: “You are the first out of 50,000 teachers. Somebody had to open this door, and it was up to you.”

Melisa grew up in a a very repressed environment, and never felt totally happy. “Eight years ago I accepted myself for what I am: a person with masculine genitals who feels like a woman. And at last I could sleep peacefully,” she said.

In the next couple of days she will arrange to get a new national ID card. For some people she is still José, for others she is Melisa -- ending up with an androgynous image that she doesn’t really connect with.

“She should be respected," says Provenzano, the Gender Studies department director. "According to the current law, a person has the right to choose his or her own sexuality and gender. And to the extent that something is legitimate, it is incontrovertible.”

Και η ύπαρξή μου είναι βαθιά θηλυκή''.

Έτσι, η Melisa έγινε η πρώτη τρανσέξουαλ δασκάλα του Μπουένος Άιρες, όπως γράφουν το ''Worldcrunch'' και το ισπανικό ''Clarin''.

Αισθάνθηκε πως είχε φτάσει η ώρα να αλλάξει όταν τον περασμένο Μάιο η Γερουσία ψήφισε ένα νόμο σχετικά με την ταυτότητα του φύλου που επιτρέπει στα άτομα να προσαρμόσουν την ταυτότητά τους, έγγραφα και πιστοποιητικά γέννησης με βάση την προσωπική επιλογή του φύλου τους.

Η Melisa είναι δασκάλα τα τελευταία 22 χρόνια σε διάφορα σχολεία της περιοχής και αναλαμβάνει τάξεις από τη δευτέρα έως και την πέμπτη δημοτικού.

Κι αν αναρωτιέστε πώς την αντιμετωπίζουν οι μαθητές της να σας ενημερώσω πως την έχουν αποδεχθεί πλήρως, αν και κάποιοι μαθητές λένε ακόμα πως είναι ''πολύ όμορφη... δάσκαλος''.

Η προεργασία είχε ξεκινήσει αρκετό καιρό πριν καθώς η ίδια φορούσε κοσμήματα, μακριά νύχια και λέπταινε τη φωνή της όσο ήταν δυνατό.

Δεν αντιμετώπισε κανένα πρόβλημα από την οικογένεια και το εργασιακό της περιβάλλον και νιώθει περήφανη με την απόφασή της, η οποία μπορεί να ανοίξει το δρόμο και σε άλλες παρόμοιες υποθέσεις.

Lola points out that stiletto heels are made for women and not for men which is why her shoe heels keep snapping. Charlie sees the possible market of shoes for male transvestites and promises to make Lola boots that support a man's weight. However, things go array as Charlie's girlfriend wants him to sell the company, male employees are unsupportive of the idea and Charlie is overworking the employees. Still Lola is not afraid to save the day.

Ο Τσάρλι βλέπει την νέα πιθανή αγορά για παπούτσια για άνδρες τραβεστί και υπόσχεται στη Λόλα να τής κάνει μπότες που να αντέχουν το βάρος ενός άνδρα. Ωστόσο, τα πράγματα δεν πάνε καλά καθώς η φίλη τού Τσάρλυ τον πιέζει να πουλήσει την εταιρεία, οι άνδρες εργάτες αντιδρούν στις νέες ιδέες τού αφεντικού και ο Τσάρλι δίνει υπερβολικό φόρτο εργασίας στο Προσωπικό του. Ομως η Λόλα δεν διστάζει να επέμβει για να σώσει την κατάσταση.

Η συγκεκριμένη δωρεά έρχεται έπειτα από τη συλλογή περισσότερων από 240.000 υπογραφών κατά του νέου νόμου υπέρ των ‘γάμων’ των ομοφυλόφιλων, που στην ουσία αποτέλεσε μία πράξη υποστήριξης για τη διεξαγωγή δημοψηφίσματος.

Η συγκεκριμένη συνεισφορά καθιστά, σύμφωνα με τους Times της Νέας Υόρκης, το ζευγάρι ιδιοκτητών του Amazon τους μεγαλύτερους οικονομικούς υποστηρικτές των ‘δικαιωμάτων’ των ομοφυλόφιλων στη πολιτεία της Washington – ξεπερνώντας κατά πολύ τη συνεισφορά των Bill Gates και Steven A. Ballmer τηςMicrosoft ύψους 100.000 δολαρίων.

Η Κυβερνήτης της Πολιτείας της Washington Christine Gregoire, η οποία είναι μέλος των Δημοκρατικών, ενέκρινε το νομοσχέδιο σχετικά με τον ‘γάμο’ των ομοφυλόφιλων καθιστώντας τον ως νόμο τον Φεβρουάριο, κάνοντας έτσι την Washington την έβδομη πολιτεία των Η.Π.Α που επανακαθορίζει με άγνωστες κοινωνικές επιπτώσεις και προεκτάσεις την πραγματική έννοια του γάμου.

Το εν λόγω νομοσχέδιο αναμενόταν να λάβει ισχύ τον Ιούνιο, αλλά όμως η Οργάνωση Υπέρ της Διατήρησης της Έννοιας του Γάμου στη Washington συγκέντρωσε 247.331 υπογραφές ξεπερνώντας κατά πολύ το απαιτούμενο όριο για τη διεξαγωγή σχετικού δημοψηφίσματος.
Ο Joseph Backholm, Πρόεδρος της Οργάνωσης Υπέρ της Διατήρησης της Έννοιας του Γάμου (Preserve Marriage Washington), δήλωσε ότι ο μεγάλος αριθμός ατόμων οι οποίοι υποστήριξαν το δημοψήφισμα δείχνει ότι η κοινή γνώμη υποστηρίζει ξεκάθαρα τον παραδοσιακό γάμο.

“Παρόλες τις προσπάθειες ορισμένων να κάμψουν αυτό που πραγματικά πιστεύουμε, η υποστήριξη της διατήρησης της έννοιας του γάμου παραμένει ισχυρή στη πολιτεία μας,” δήλωσε ο Backholm, προσθέτοντας ότι η ατζέντα των ομοφυλόφιλων “δεν έχει να κάνει με την ισότητα ή την ισονομία – τα ομοφυλόφιλα ζευγάρια έχουν ήδη τα ίδια νομικά δικαιώματα στην έννοια του γάμου δίχως φύλο, και να μειώσουν την έμφαση που πρέπει να δίδεται στους μοναδικούς ρόλους της μητέρας και του πατέρα, και να αλλάξουν δια παντός τον θεσμό του γάμου’’.

Το "Dunno Y - Na jaane kyun" είναι η πρώτη ανοιχτά ομοφυλόφιλη ινδική ταινία, σε σκηνοθεσία τού Sanjay Sharma και σενάριο από τον αδελφό του, Kapil Sharma ο οποίος έπαιξε επίσης έναν από τους δύο πρωταγωνιστικούς ρόλους (τον Αρυάν). Το φλμ έκανε πρεμιέρα τον Απρίλιο του 2010 στο πρώτο gay φεστιβάλ τής Ινδίας, το Kashish Mumbai. Δείχνει το πρώτο gay φιλί στην Ινδία! Η ταινία προβλήθηκε σε πολλά φεστιβάλ, μεταξύ των οποίων το 6ο Φεστιβάλ Γκέι Σινεμά τής Αθήνας τον Μάιο τού 2012, όπου οι δύο πρωταγωνιστές έλαβαν το πρώτο βραβείο ηθοποιίας, μάλλον περισσότερο για τον θάρρος τους παρά για την ερμηνεία τους.

Η ταινία έλαβε μικτές κριτικές και αντιμετώπισε λογοκρισία και αντιδράσεις στην Ινδία. Οι πραγματικοί γονείς τού Yuvraaj Parashar (ο Ashley στην ταινία), ένας από τους δύο πρωταγωνιστές, ​​ξεκίνησαν νομική δράση για να τον αποκηρύξουν, εξαιτίας τής ντροπής που ένιωσαν από την ταινία, και λένε ότι "δεν θέλουν να δουν το πρόσωπό του ακόμη και όταν πεθαίνουν"

η Ευγενία (Μαρία Σκουλά) φοβάται να αντιμετωπίσει την κριτική της κόρης της για τη σχέση της με τον κατά πολύ νεότερό της Αντώνη (Αντρέας Κωνσταντίνου) και ο Ηλίας (Ερρίκος Λίτσης) επιχειρεί με κάθε τρόπο την επανασύνδεση με την πρώην γυναίκα του Βίκυ (Όλια Λαζαρίδου). Όλοι μαζί βουτάνε χωρίς ανάσα στην «κολασμένη» ατμόσφαιρα της αποκριάς. Χάνονται σους ήχους της τέκνο και της σάμπα και περιτριγυρισμένοι από εξωτικά πουλιά, χρυσές στολές και γκλίτερ περούκες θα διεκδικήσουν το συναισθηματικό Παράδεισό τους.
Ο έρωτας και τα ερωτηματικά για το μεγάλο στοίχημα της συντροφικότητας αποτελούν τη βάση πάνω στην οποία ο σκηνοθέτης Παναγιώτης Φαφούτης στήνει ένα δυνατό πάρτι χαρακτήρων με τη μουσική του G.Pal να κυριαρχεί και να καθοδηγεί τα συναισθήματά τους. Όπως κάνουν κάθε χρόνο, οι ήρωες της ταινίας φοράνε τις αποκριάτικες μάσκες τους. Πίσω από αυτές μπορούν επιτέλους να είναι αληθινοί και να δοκιμάσουν τις αντοχές τους ως τα όρια του Παραδείσου ή… της Κόλασης.

Führer Ex is a challenging, harsh, and intensely involving tale of the course of friendship of two young lads living in the 'prison' of Communist East Germany in 1986. Based on fact (Ingo Hasselbach's book 'Die Abrechnng' adapted for the screen by Douglas Graham and director Winfried Bonengel), this story relates the changes that occur in the close friendship of two boys torn by the confinement of the East German Communists vs the Western freedom of West Germany and the countries not under Communist control. It informs us about that transition with the fall of the Berlin wall and the subsequent adjustment to the new form of life East Germans found beyond the crumbled wall.

Γράφτηκε από την Harriet Braun και όπως λέει η ίδια βασίζεται σε εμπειρίες δικές της αλλά και φίλων της. Ο υπεύθυνος του καναλιού δήλωσε ότι η σειρά αυτή προσφέρει μια άλλη οπτική στις σχέσης καθώς δείχνει τι σημαίνει να είσαι μια νέα λεσβία στην Βρετανία σήμερα.

Η γυναίκα του ενός έμελλε να ανακαλύψει την απιστία του συζύγου της και μάλιστα εντελώς τυχαία. Ήταν βραδάκι όταν επέστρεφε από την δουλειά από τον παραλιακό δρόμο. Ξαφνικά είδε το πολυτελές αμάξι του συζύγου της παρκαρισμένο στην παραλία.

Πλησίασε και άκουσε βογγητά. Προχώρησε και ύστερα από λίγα δευτερόλεπτα, είδε μια εικόνα που δεν πρόκειται να ξεχάσει ποτέ. Τον άντρα της, μαζί με τον φίλο του στην παραλία! Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα, επικράτησε πανικός με τη γυναίκα να φωνάζει και τους δύο άντρες να προσπαθούν να την ηρεμήσουν.

Η γυναίκα φαίνεται αποφασισμένη να πάρει διαζύγιο, ενώ η... πικάντικη ιστορία έχει γίνει μόνιμο θέμα συζήτησης στα καφενεία της Χαλκίδας...

Το απόγευμα θα απευθύνει χαιρετισμό ο δήμαρχος Γιάννης Μπουτάρης - Για ανήθικη παρέλαση, κάνει λόγο με ανακοίνωσή της η μητρόπολη...


Την πρώτη της Gay Pride υποδέχεται το απόγευμα η Θεσσαλονίκη με την εναρκτήρια ομιλία στην πλατεία Εμπορίου στις 19.00 το απόγευμα, όπου χαιρετισμό θα απευθύνει ο δήμαρχος Γιάννης Μπουτάρης.

Οι εκδηλώσεις κορυφώνονται με την πολυαναμενόμενη παρέλαση από τις 20.30 ως τις 21.30 το βράδυ του Σαββάτου στους δρόμους της πόλης και με συναυλία στον πεζόδρομο της Αγίας Σοφίας.

Άμεση ήταν η αντίδραση της Μητρόπολης Θεσσαλονίκης όπου σε ανακοίνωση της κάνει λόγο για «γεγονός απαράδεκτο για τα ήθη και τα έθιμα της πόλης» και προσθέτει: «απορούμε, θλιβόμεθα, διαμαρτυρόμεθα και γνωρίζουμε ότι πολίτες, άνδρες και γυναίκες, ιδίως νέοι της πόλεώς μας έχουν δηλώσει ότι θα αντιδράσουν έντονα σε τέτοια παρουσία και ανήθικη παρέλαση οπουδήποτε στην πόλη μας αλλά ειδικότερα στην καρδιά της ζωής των δύο μεγάλων μας Ναών, Αγίου Γρηγορίου του Παλαμά και Αγίας Σοφίας».

Zenne Dancer (2012)

“ZENNE DANCER” is the story of a trio of unlikely friends: AHMET – a boy from eastern Turkey born into a repressively conservative family; CAN (Djan) – a flamboyant male belly dancer (Zenne) nurtured by a loving and fiercely protective mother; and DANIEL – a wounded German war photographer who chances upon these interesting yet contrasting boys in Istanbul, a city bidding to become the ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2008. Throughout the film, the audience is exposed to the humiliations endured by gays who are banned from serving in the Turkish army on the grounds that they are “sexually deviant” and therefore unfit to serve. Yet in order to be exempted, gays are required to provide photographs showing themselves engaged in passive sexual intercourse with a male partner. Some are forced to undergo invasive anal examinations in order to prove that they are gay. As the story unfolds, the audience also learns about Daniel’s scarring experiences in war-torn Afghanistan. Daniel’s western outlook inadvertently accelerates Ahmet’s looming death. Can’s fury and anguish find an outlet in his eerily graceful yet oddly asexual dances that punctuate the film.

“ZENNE DANCER” has been inspired by the true story of Ahmet YILDIZ, who was murdered for being gay at the age 26 by his own father in 2008.

Η λέξη «Ζenne» σημαίνει στην τουρκική αργκό τον άνδρα χορευτή της κοιλιάς. Αυτός είναι και ο τίτλος της ταινίας των Μεχμέτ Μπινάι και Κανέρ Αλπέρ, η οποία με αφορμή το «έγκλημα τιμής» κατά το οποίο δολοφονήθηκε ο ομοφυλόφιλος Αχμέτ Γιλντίζ από τον ίδιο του τον πατέρα, διερευνά τη σεξουαλική ταυτότητα.

Οι δημιουργοί της ταινίας οι οποίοι είναι και ζευγάρι στην ζωή 14 χρόνια δήλωσαν ότι ελπίζουν το έργο τους να αναγκάσει την τουρκική κοινωνία να συζητήσει τα εγκλήματα μίσους που τα θύματα στοχοποιούνται από το φύλο, τη θρησκεία, την εθνότητα ή τη σεξουαλική ταυτότητα.
