Naked As We Came (2013)

After an unexpected phone call, Laura and her brother Elliot rush to their family’s country estate to find their mother, Lilly, gravely ill and living with a handsome young stranger named Ted. Estranged for some time, their mother’s condition sets Laura and Elliot on a path to realizing where their own lives have gone wrong. Lilly, on the other hand, has mellowed from the controlling woman she was and is hoping to pass on some wisdom to her children. Now her kids find themselves dealing with their own feelings of resentment and broken dreams while trying to figure out how Ted fits into their mother’s life. Elliot even slept with Ted to break some barriers. But Ted has a secret of his own.

In the early 1940s, Alan Ginsberg is an English major in Columbia University, only to learn more than he bargained for. Dissatisfied by the orthodox attitudes of the school, Alan finds himself drawn to iconoclastic colleagues like Lucien Carr, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac. Together, this gang would explore bold new literary ideas that would challenge the sensibilities of their time as the future Beat Generation. However, for all their creativity, their very appetites and choices lead to more serious transgressions that would mark their lives forever.


Το 1944, ο Άλεν Γκίνσμπεργκ ήταν ένας νευρικός, αυστηρός πρωτοετής στο πανεπιστήμιο Κολούμπια. Ο Τζακ Κέρουακ, ένας ξεπεσμένος που επέστρεφε στο κολέγιο μετά από οκτώ ημέρες που άντεξε στο ναυτικό. Ο Ουίλιαμ Σ. Μπάροουζ είχε παρατήσει την ιατρική σχολή, πρώην απεντομωτής από πόρτα σε πόρτα και ναρκομανής, που σύχναζε στο περιθώριο της μποέμικης σκηνής της Νέας Υόρκης όταν ακολούθησε τον Λούσιεν Καρ και τον Ντέιβιντ Κάμερερ, παιδικοί φίλοι από το Σεντ Λούις, στο Μαχνάταν. Μέσα σε μερικούς μήνες, όμως, μετά την υπόσχεσή τους να διακηρύξουν και να κυνηγήσουν το «Νέο Όραμα» για την τέχνη και τη λογοτεχνία, ο Κάμερερ βρέθηκε νεκρός, μαχαιρωμένος στην καρδιά από τον πρώην προστατευόμενο και εραστή του, Καρ.

North Sea Texas (2011)

Pim, the emotionally abandoned and affection-starved young gay son of a small seaside town's resident floozy, grows up dreaming intensely of a loving father who will someday come for him, but never does. Frequently home alone, Pim often spends time at a neighbor's house where another single mom and her two teenage children accept him matter-of-factly. As Pim is about to turn 15, he and neighbor boy Gino become each other's friend-with-benefits, entering a period of sexual awakening together. Life, however, is all about change, and while Gino (a couple years older) is ready to move on and move out, Pim is not, leaving Pim behind to carry on with his continuing crush for Gino (while Gino's sister Sabrina develops an unrequited crush for Pim).
