On October 4, 1998, TVFR1 broadcasted this film in prime time. It was watched by such a high number of viewers, that it is ranked in the top 100 televised French films.
The STAR here is Fanny Ardant (Eva), who easily steals every single scene she is in and not without reason. She won the 1997 César (European Oscar) for Best Actress for Pedale Douce. This film has also an excellent soundtrack (Dalida, Village People, Boney M, Army of Lovers and others ...).
Pédale Douce is an excellent bittersweet comedy about homosexuality, although sometimes it is a bit eccentric. Adrien Aymar is a single, respectable business man ... at least during the day. In the evenings, Adrien swaps his banker suit for drag queen gowns and goes to his friend Eva, who runs a gay nightclub. When his boss, Alexandre, invites Adrien and "his wife" to dinner, Adrien finds no other solution than to ask Eva to take on this role. Alexander is immediately captivated by "Mrs. Aymar," though he is married to Marie. He follows Eva to her restaurant and he discovers that Adrien and Andre' (another one of his employees) are gay...

Το Pedale Douce είναι μια εξαιρετική γλυκόπικρη κωμωδία για την ομοφυλοφιλία, αν και μερικές φορές είναι λίγο εξωφρενική. Ο Adrien Aymar είναι ένα ανύπαντρο, αξιοσέβαστο τραπεζικό στέλεχος... τουλάχιστον κατά τη διάρκεια τής ημέρας. Τα βράδια, ο Adrien αλλάζει το συντηρητικό κοστούμι του με ρούχα τραβεστί και πηγαίνει στη φίλη του Εύα, η οποία διευθύνει ένα γκέι κλαμπ. Όταν το αφεντικό του, ο Αλεξάντρ Agut, καλεί τον Adrien και "την γυναίκα του" σε δείπνο, ο Adrien δεν έχει καμία άλλη λύση από το να ζητήσει απ'την Εύα να αναλάβει αυτόν τον ρόλο. Ο Αλεξάντρ αμέσως γοητεύεται από την "κα Aymar," αν και είναι παντρεμένος με την Μαρί. Ακολουθεί την Εύα στο εστιατόριό της και ανακαλύπτει ότι ο Adrien και ο Αντρέ (άλλος ένας από τους υπαλλήλους του) είναι γκέι ...

Morgan (2012)
